The 300th Sellout Defines Dominance

In Nebraska there is nothing more dominant in the state or in the lives of people from the state than Nebraska Cornhusker Football.

To speak to someone outside of the state of Nebraska about the sell out streak would be a waste of time.  They don't get it and won't get it.  To speak to a Husker football fan about the streak would be an equal waste of time but for a different reason.  To a Husker fan, "Why wouldn't every game be sold out."  Notice I did not place a question mark at the end of that statement for it is not a question for a Husker fan but a statement.  Not only will Husker fans fill Memorial Stadium for every home game but Husker fans will travel, like no other fan base, to every road game.  Those that can't be at the game are huddled in restaurants and bars all across the country, as we have seen week in and week out, in yes of all places, Atlanta, Georgia.  On this night over 200 fans came out in the bad weather to be apart of another Husker football game at TJ's.  Enjoy next weekend off and get ready for the start of Big XII play.

Week 4 Update

The Road Can Be BRUTAL

I admit I am struggling with what to say about the VA Tech game.  So here is what I will say.  WE HAVE A PRETTY GOOD TEAM AND A GREAT COACHING STAFF!  Everyone will talk about all the mistakes the team made, question the coaches and referees, but at the end of the day, for the first time in a long time, I saw a pretty good Nebraska Cornhusker Football Team.  We may not play for the national championship this year but from what I saw we can definitely compete for the Big XII North and out-right title.    Over 150 Husker fans filled TJ's yet again. There is no other place I would have rather been than with a group of Husker fans as I fell to my knees feeling like I had been punched in the gut, twice.

300th Homecoming White Out

Georgians for Nebraska has partnered with Lanier Charter Career Academy, part of the Hall County School system, in the creation of this special commemorative T-Shirt.  This shirt was designed and printed by the students.  Each shirt is ONLY $10 and there are only a few left.  The image shown is the large image on the back of the shirt.  The front pocket of the shirt has the state of Georgia with the Nebraska N and peach as shown in the top right of the back image.  It was great to see so many fans in these shirts at the watch party.

Week 3 Update

Huskers go 2-0 in the Sun Belt Conference

Another great win and another great watch party.  Over 300 Husker fans filled TJ's to cheer on the Huskers.

Week 3 will be the Huskers first real test of the season.  As many Husker fans head to Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, GA4NE will be at TJ's ready for another great Watch Party.  There is NO COVER charge for this game.  Kickoff at 3:30 pm.

2009 Pay Per View Games

We are very fortunate as Husker fans to have a university that provides us with the opportunity to watch every Husker football game.  The last two seasons the university has increased its Pay Per View opportunities and has already shown its commitment to Pay Per View this year.  As with all good things in life it does come with a price.  Beginning with the first PPV game on September 5th we will charge $1.00 for all GA4NE members and $5.00 for all non members.  This charge will allow us to continue to bring Husker fans all PPV games and continue the benefits associated with our watch parties.

This cover charge will be taken as you enter TJ’s and does not guarantee seating.  It simply allows you admission into TJ’s.  Children under 18 will not be charged.  We ask that you present your membership card at the door and for ease of service have exact change if possible.

Week 2 Update

WOW what a way to start off the 2009 season!!!

The game was incredible, the Watch Party was incredible……oh wait this just in, one of our recruits from next year has just scored on Florida Atlantic.  Juniors, Freshman, High School Seniors, they all played well Saturday.  The Blackshirts didn’t allow a touchdown and even blocked a field goal.  The raffle items were awesome, as usual, and the trivia questions were a lot of fun.  Ric did a great job with the music and how about the new GA4NE Merchandise.  We even had a birthday with some very tasty cake.  Estimated crowd…OVER 400!!!   It was so much fun I say we do it again only this time not as late in the evening.

The University manages the fund and more information can be obtained by contacting the University of Nebraska Foundation offices. http://www.nufoundation.org
