*Saturday* NEB vs. Alabama @ 3pm NEB vs. Central Florida @ 6:30pm

UPDATE – GA4NE fans will meet at the Texas Roadhouse in Columbus, GA at 12pm for lunch on Saturday.  Immediately following lunch we will drive to the softball complex to watch the Huskers kick some butt!

My name is Katie (Linke) Mlady and I was a member of the Nebraska Softball team from 2002-2006.

The Husker Softball team will be making its annual trip down to Columbus, GA for the Leadoff Classic Tournament.  Not only will the Lady Huskers be competing but returning World Series attendants including Alabama, Michigan, and Missouri will also be participating.  The tournament is held from February 26-28^th, game times are as follows:

Feb 26^th (Friday) 11am: Nebraska vs Arkansas  630pm: Nebraska vs Georgia Tech

Feb 27^th (Saturday)  130pm: Nebraska vs Alabama  400pm: Nebraska vs Central Florida

Feb 28^th (Sunday) 1230pm: Nebraska vs Virginia Tech

I understand that with busy schedules it may be hard to plan a weekend trip to Columbus, so I’m proposing we get a group together to attend the Saturday games.  Each game typically lasts 2 hours so immediately following the 130 game, the Cornhuskers will take on their next opponent at 4pm.  This would give us Husker fans the maximum softball excitement in the shortest period of time.

My husband and I live in Milledgeville, so it will be a slight drive for us to attend as well as you Atlanta Metro residents.  I’m wondering if a carpool might be a good idea?  Unfortunately we found out about GA4NE towards the end of the football season, and haven’t had the pleasure of meeting most of you fine people. J But maybe if Husker Softball is something you’re interested in, you could grab some fellow GA4NE friends, hop in a car, and make a day out of it.
